About

Hi, I’m Mona Patterson.

Born and raised in the foothills of Altadena, I developed an early infatuation with the natural world around me. Today, as an early-career climate scientist and journalist, I’m passionate about using interdisciplinary tools to tell human-centered stories at the intersection of science, environment, and society.

My recent work includes publications with the Smithsonian Institution, as well as freelance articles and video pieces documenting the impacts of the Eaton Fire on my hometown. I recently earned a BFA in Broadcast Journalism & Documentary from the Dodge College of Film and Media Arts at Chapman University.
